Last stop before returning to Sydney - again

Left Port Macquarrie for our final stop on this coast before arriving back in Sydney tomorrow morning. On our way out of Macquarrie we came across this bowling club at Lake Cathie.

It took a little under 3 hours to make the journey to Nelson Bay, Port Stephen on a very quiet Pacific Highway.

After checking in at our motel we went in search of Koalas in the wild. Only saw one at about 5.15. in a very tall tree & the sun had just set, so picture not very good

The owner of the motel where we were staying came from Bolton & will be travelling home next week to see her mother who lives on Chorley Old Road. It's a small world.

After checking out, we drove to Shoal Bay, which is next to Nelson Bay. It had a very inviting beach & lovely blue water rolling in. No time for a swim, just a photo shoot.

A 3 hour drive saw us back in Sydney once more. Unfortunately my cousin Phyllis  had been hospitalised in the last week after a fall, and wasn't able to see us. Her husband Keith & son Tim had prepared lunch for us so we able to catch up before leaving the city. At the end of lunch Tims sister Anne called to take her dad to the hospital. We loaded our suitcases which we had left with Tim whilst up in Brisbane into our car, then Tim guided us to the city to put us on the right freeway for our next destination ,90 minutes South of Sydney, the town of Thirroul.
