We are back in Sydney for the second time this trip having had a ten hour stop over en-route to Christchurch back in February. We were fortunate then to visit my cousin Phyllis and her husband Keith who live just outside of the city for lunch. This morning Phyllis and Keith collected us from our hotel in Darling Harbour and took us on a tour of Sydney. Our first stop on the tour was Bondi Beach where we stayed seven years ago on our Silver Wedding trip.

From Bondi we went to Watsons Beach where we had lunch. These next two photos are the views from our table.
Keith and Phyllis then took us to Coogee Bay, where Steven our eldest son lived for part of the time he was working in Australia.
After saying farewell to Pyllis and Keith we walked a short distance to Pyrmont Bay in Darling Harbour, where we saw the ship pictured below. It is the last steel hull rigger in the world that is still seaworthy.
Across the key was a replica of Captain Cooks Ship Endeavour. which was built to commemorate the two hundredth anniversary of Cooks landing in Australia.
When the picture is enlarged you should be able to notice that the Union Flag on the ship is somewhat different to the present day flag.
From this same quay, we caught the ferry pictured below round to Circular Quay for a tour of the Sydney Opera House.
This picture was taken looking up at the glass windows of the Opera House. It shows an upside down mirror image of the Harbour bridge.
After our tour of the Opera House we decided to purchase tickets for an evening performance in the Concert Theatre by The Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
I sneakily took this picture before the performance began. Sorry it is a bit blurred.
We travelled back to the hotel after the concert on the same ferry we travelled out on. All the buildings on the harbour were lit up, creating a very impressive sight.
This morning (Thursday 2nd) we were joined for breakfast at our hotel by my cousin's son, Tim. He had kindly agreed to store our large suitcases at his place while we head up North to Brisbane. We will be back in Sydney next Thursday to pick them up.

We checked out of the hotel after breakfast & caught the shuttle to the domestic terminal at the airport to catch our flight to Brisbane.
