More catch up pictures from camera -Fox Glacier

A more relaxed day today. I'll take this opportunity to put the Fox Glacier "Heli Hike" Pictures on my blog. If you read my write up of the day (Sunday 3rd March) you will be in the picture. If not, this was a "freebie" courtesy of a backpacker from the USA called Tyler. Here goes. Lots of pics. starting with the helicopter flight up onto Fox. We came across a tunnel formed in the ice. In order to access it our guide had to hack out some steps in the ice and lay rope hand rail so we were able to get back onto the surface of the Glacier. The ice really is as blue as it looks. It wasn't as cold as you would imagine as you can see from my attire. Just a bit cold on the hands. j Further up the glacier we came across a cave which had formed on top of the glacier and was easily accessible. The view looking down to the foot of the glacier as it spreads out is awesome. The top of the glacier moves down the mountain about 3mtrs a day, whilst at the foot it moves only one and a half meters a day but spreads out as the valley widens. The view behind me is looking up to the summit of the glacier. Looking back down you can see Victoria Falls, a waterfall of pure glacier water from on top of Fox. Came across this little Chapel Church which was open, while exploring the town of Fox. Nice and plain inside.
